Kaieteur Falls, located deep in Guyana's Amazon rainforest, is one of the world’s most powerful waterfalls.
With a stunning 741-foot drop, it’s the largest single-drop waterfall in the world. Surrounded by untouched jungle, this remote location offers a tranquil and awe-inspiring experience.
How to Get There
Getting to Kaieteur Falls requires a bit of adventure. There are no roads leading directly to the falls, so we fly from Georgetown, Guyana’s capital. Daily flights leave from Ogle Airport, costing around USD $200-$250 for a round-trip ticket. These small planes give us an incredible aerial view of the rainforest before landing at the Kaieteur Falls airstrip, where a short 10-minute walk takes us to the falls.
Ticket Prices and Opening Hours
The entrance fee is around USD $25, which is usually included in the flight package. The park is open year-round, with the best time to visit during the dry season, from mid-November to April. The dry months offer clearer skies and better views, while the wet season may bring fog and heavy rain.
