Infosys, a global leader in digital services and consulting, is making a significant impact on the Australian Open (AO) 2025 with a suite of AI-driven features, in collaboration with Tennis Australia.

This launch marks a major milestone in their seven-year partnership aimed at enhancing the tennis experience through groundbreaking technology.

At the heart of these innovations is Infosys Topaz, an AI-first suite of offerings that harness generative AI technologies to revolutionize the way fans engage with the game, how players and coaches strategize, and the overall digital interactivity of tennis.

AI Innovations at AO 2025: Transforming the Tennis Experience

Infosys has introduced several AI-driven innovations for the 2025 Australian Open, all designed to elevate fan experiences while providing advanced tools for players and coaches. One standout innovation is Beyond Tennis, the world’s first generative AI-powered tennis league.

In this virtual league, fans can interact with 16 AI-powered players, train teams, and compete in AI-generated tournaments. This unique platform not only provides a fresh form of fan engagement but also lets users dive deep into the world of tennis through digital interaction and innovation.

“Each year at the Australian Open, we’ve pushed the boundaries of technology to fuel fan engagement and player performance,” says Andrew Groth, executive vice president of Asia Pacific at Infosys. “This year, with generative AI innovations like the Beyond Tennis league and AI-enhanced VR experiences, we are offering fans, players, and coaches truly innovative platforms that will change the way they interact with the game.”

Enhancing Fan Engagement: AI-Driven Interactivity

Dubbed The Slam That Never Stops, the Beyond Tennis league is designed to captivate younger audiences, offering them a safe, engaging digital environment to enjoy the sport. This virtual league allows fans to connect with the game like never before, interact with AI players, and engage in dynamic tournaments.

In addition to Beyond Tennis, Infosys has enhanced the fan experience at Melbourne Park with AI-powered commentary through the Infosys Match Centre. This feature offers concise, engaging insights during live matches, keeping fans informed and entertained in real-time.

Fans attending the tournament will also have the opportunity to explore a VR AI Stadium, where they can design and play on virtual tennis courts inspired by exciting themes such as galaxies, nature, and retro styles.

Empowering Players and Coaches with AI Analytics

For players and coaches, the AI-driven innovations go beyond fan engagement. Advanced video analytics tools provide detailed post-match reviews and strategic pre-game insights, offering players the opportunity to refine their performance and approach before and after matches.

Another feature, the AI Shot of the Day, allows the Australian Open’s media team to create and share captivating match highlights quickly on social media, ensuring that the most exciting moments are delivered to fans instantly.

Sustainability and Education: A Focus on the Future

Infosys continues to emphasize sustainability in its contributions to the Australian Open. The Infosys Fan Zone has been designed with fully recyclable structures and a carbon-neutral footprint, showcasing the company’s commitment to minimizing environmental impact.

A New Era for Tennis

Craig Tiley, CEO of Tennis Australia and director of the Australian Open, reflects on the importance of this partnership: “For the past seven years, Infosys has helped Tennis Australia raise the bar and deliver new experiences for fans using digital technologies.

With these AI innovations, Infosys and Tennis Australia are not only enhancing the experience of fans but are also paving the way for a new era of tennis—one where technology and AI play an integral role in shaping the future of the sport.
