Chaka Salt Lake, also known as the “Mirror of the Sky” in Qinghai, China, spans an impressive 105 square kilometers. Acting as a natural mirror, it reflects the surrounding snow-capped peaks of the Qilian Mountains, Kunlun Mountains, and Rubber Mountains.

Recognized as one of the "55 places to visit in a lifetime" by National Tourism Geographic Magazine, it is a destination that captivates travelers with its otherworldly beauty.

At night, the lake transforms into a magical setting. The clear waters and expansive views offer an unparalleled experience of the starry sky, with the heavens mirrored perfectly in the lake. This unique setting has made Chaka Salt Lake the foremost site for capturing China’s most stunning night skies.

Beyond its natural wonders, Chaka Salt Lake holds cultural significance as one of the cradles of Chinese salt production. The name “Chaka” translates to “salt pond” in Tibetan. For over 3,000 years, it has been a vital source of Daqing Salt, a green edible salt, and a key stop along the ancient Silk Road connecting central China to Tibet.
